Overwhelmed

May 23, 2016 By Juanita Ryan 1 Comment

I am overwhelmed today
by your tender mercies, your kindness,
your extravagant gifts.
I am like a wounded, untrusting
child on Christmas morning
sitting with a stack of beautiful gifts
from Someone I love more than any other.
Like the child, I am astonished, wary.
But there you are, smiling delight
as you watch me unwrap one gift after another,
all from you hand,
all from the kindness of your heart.
Help me to breathe.
Help me to soften and cry my gratitude.
Help me to run to you and sob my thanks
so I can arrive at joy’s doorstep and play.

LOVE this…you take time to be blessed with His intimate, truthful, and loving presence. Thank you for sharing!!! This reminds me to experience safety and love in the sweet presence of our Heavenly Father.
