Dead End

December 9, 2013 By Juanita Ryan Leave a Comment

I have came to a dead end.
The path I journeyed for years
has came to a sudden stop
at the edge of a cliff.

Exhausted and numb, I sit
dangling my feet over the brink.
Alone. Bewildered.
Stunned that my efforts
have lead to this.

My mind has lost all sense
of confidence and strength.
“I don’t know,” was my last sigh.

And so, I sit.
Silent. Waiting. Undone.

I ask, now,
emptied and ready to listen,
for your wisdom.
What now? What is your way?
My way has come to an end.

——

If any of you lacks wisdom,
he should ask God,
who gives generously
to all without finding fault,
and it will be given to him.
James 1:5
